   Practical Diving Products have thicker, poly-carbonate components where it matters most. At depth, nylon and polyester lines absorb water and swell outwards, putting considerable pressure on the reel spool. Injection-moulded poly-carbonate spools are thin and can fail under prolonged lateral pressure, rendering the reel useless (the more line there is, the worse the problem). Practical Diving Products open reels have a 30mm solid PVC spindle with 6mm thick (replaceable) polycarbonate spool ends that wont let you down;
   The open reels have PVC inserts front and rear to discourage the line from leaving the spool. While even the best reels can backlash (particularly out of the water), the PVC inserts help trap any loose line inside the spool where it's more easily controlled;
   The open reels have large, comfortably machined 'Delrin' (TM) handles - as equally comfortable in cold water as they are in warm water. 316 stainless steel fittings and components are always used (where possible) to provide the greatest strength and durability;
   Practical Diving Products is a very small business dedicated to making the best quality reels on the market. Each reel is individually hand-made to a standard atypical of commercially viable production goods. Practical Diving Products puts quality and functionality before profit - the quality speaks for itself.![]() |
